French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) has teamed up with SLO ALPHA Pregnancy and Parenting to ask the community for support in a month-long infant car seat drive. SLO ALPHA is a nonprofit pregnancy support center that provides assistance for families from pregnancy to a child’s first year. Due to their continued support throughout the community, SLO ALPHA is able to give away infant car seats every month free of charge.
However, its supplies will run out in April. This is largely due to the reduction in state funding for ALPHA. The organization is in desperate need for donations in order to continue their cause.
SLO ALPHA is hoping to receive 100 car seat donations in the month of May alone. To help the organization achieve this goal, the car seat drive encourages community members to contribute cash donations and/or car seat donations today.
The desired car seat model is the Scenera 40MF Convertible Car seat and only costs $39.99 at Target and Wal-mart. The car seat needs to be new and in it original package in order for it to be accepted. After purchasing the car seat, be sure to drop off the donation at the various location listed below.
