French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) recently received a generous grant from Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG& E) to support the hospital’s Energy Conservation Project. The $5,000 grant will enable FHMC to upgrade its lighting throughout the hospital with more efficient bulbs that use less energy and last longer.
The Energy Conservation Project is a part of the Environmental Action Committee (EAC) which promotes environmental consciousness at FHMC. The EAC identifies ways that FHMC can continue to be good a steward of the environment and advocates for reducing the impact to our landfills by recycling, reducing and reusing. The committee helps guide the hospital toward smart growth as it plans to expand and meet the growing health care needs of the community in the coming years.
“At Pacific Gas and Electric Company, we believe that it is important to fund non-profits in our community that provide important services to our customers,” says Patricia Wilmore, local area manager of Government and Public Relations.
“We are grateful for the support of PG&E and appreciate their efforts to partner with French Hospital to help conserve energy and ultimately protect our environment,” says FHMC President and CEO Alan Iftiniuk.
