As the open enrollment period quickly approaches, we feel it important to remind you that freedom of choice
is your right.
Just as your carefully select your primary care physician, you can also choose the hospital where you receive
medical care. Your physician and your health care plan should allow you to choose from a variety of facilities
on the Central Coast, including French Hospital Medical Center and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.
If you need medical care or a surgical procedure, and you are not offered a choice of facility, ask why not, and
request the facility of your choice. If your health plan restricts that choice, perhaps it's time to change plans.
During open enrollment, ask the question: Can I choose my local not-for-profit hospital for care?
