Feeding our spirit is as vital as feeding our body. As health care providers, we fully embrace the spiritual dimension of life as a key ingredient of our health and well-being and are dedicated to providing spiritual care services to our patients, families and care givers. Spirituality can be a valuable resource in times of crisis, helping us adjust to life transitions and cope with illness, trauma and loss. At French Hospital Medical Center, our spiritual care team is specially trained to provide holistic spiritual care to persons of all religious faiths, including those without any religious affiliation. They are available for pastoral counseling, crisis intervention, prayer, facilitating bioethical decision-making, and bereavement counseling. They will also contact your priest, rabbi, minister or lay minister upon request.
For our Catholic patients, we have Eucharistic Ministers who bring Holy Communion by request. A priest is available for the Sacrament of the Sick and Sacrament of Reconciliation.
