The most rewarding aspect of my practice environment is the community nature of our hospitals, which gives one the gratification of providing a service to families who feel somewhat at home at their friendly local ER. This experience is less notable at larger facilities.

French Hospital recently opened two new state-of-the-art Catherterization and Interventional Radiology Suites. With two cath labs, we are able to take elective and emergent cases simultaneously.

French Hospital Medical Center is a midsize hospital with the advantages of the closeness provided by community hospital centers. If you are looking to practice in a community hospital environment this would be a good fit.

San Luis Obispo has everything except snow, but snow is only an hour or two away. Good surf, great hills, and a very active and athletic community. I can get in a bike ride, surf, and family time all in one afternoon and still have time for work.
